Definition of Workplace Consulting
The WCO define Workplace Consulting as involving:

using a range of techniques, including engagement with the business and end user, to gather data that will determine an organisation’s requirements for their current or future working environments; -
collating and analysing the evidence gathered to inform the development of a more efficient and effective working environment which supports the organisational objectives; -
recommending a change in the working environment which may be a strategic or tactical solution that affects a single building or property portfolio; -
offering solutions that include implementing flexible (new ways of) working, consolidation and property rationalisation, relocation, and more efficient use of space.
A range of services are offered by workplace consultants including:

workplace strategy, space planning, design briefing, space requirements and space budgets, space and property portfolio analysis and benchmarking, post occupancy evaluation (POE), benefits realisation and cost-benefit analysis, change management, and related research.
Workplace consultants come from a range of disciplines including: design, architecture, surveying, psychology, HR, facilities management or business management.
